Plans for 2016

I am hoping to develop three areas of my work this year.

I am taking on a new course for IFT’s Agency Based Training programme, teaching in Cambridge with my colleague Sandie Chatterton, starting in February. It’s always exciting and a bit daunting to start working in a new environment. I’m looking forward to meeting new people and bringing systemic ideas to a different context.

I have registered with the Counselling Directory, the leading online agency for therapeutic services. I like their search facilities and the opportunity it gives people to see what’s available locally. It’ll be interesting to see what new work that brings me.

I am continuing to work with New Dawn and this is a valuable part of my professional activities. I have been able to expand my work with them. I like the ethos of the service and I find the families I work with are full of strength and wisdom, often coping with multiple difficulties.

I have some plans for my own CPD (Continuing Professional Development) . I’m going to an IFT course on writing for publication later this month. I’ve also pencilled the next AFT conference in my diary. It’s in September in Brighton. I’ve always enjoyed both the professional and personal aspects of this annual event.

AS with many others I’m also pledging to develop better habits this year! One is to write more for this blog. I will try!
